Dance Company Team
STEPPING OUT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER is so excited for our Company Dance Team. It is of the utmost importance that each dancer and parent read and understand Dance Team requirements prior to making a decision to join the Team. Any dancers ages 6 and up can make the decision to join the team.
There are no auditions, no dancers will be excluded. There will be a mandatory placement workshop that must be attended prior to start of the season. This is the day the Dance Company choreographers will observe and place dancers into groups that is best suited to their needs. The choreographer for each dance and the studio director choose the participants for each competition routine. Many factors go into these decisions, including but not limited to: overall concept of the dance and the dancer’s ability to relate, the dancer’s overall technical ability and strengths, the dancer’s’ determination, attitude, performance level, emotional maturity, and overall age of the dancers.
Click and fill out Dance Company Application and return to studio in order to get placed in competition numbers.
Being a part of a team is an honor! You will be representing our studio and more importantly yourself in a professional arena. The STEPPING OUT DANCE COMPANY TEAM programs are about more than performing. They are motivating the students to be the best they can be! Team members are also encouraged to set and achieve goals.
Dancers will be placed in small performance groups by the respective choreographers in the style of their choosing at the mandatory placement workshop. These styles can include lyrical, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theater, and hip hop.

SOLOS, DUOS, TRIOS
Dancers must be competing in 2 group company dances to be eligible to perform a solo, duo or trio. You can perform in any combination of these. There is a separate flat fee of $250/solo, $125 each/duo and $85 each for trio, total. This fee does not include costumes and competition fees. This payment can be made in installments but must be paid in full prior to the first competition. This includes but is not limited to 4 choreography sessions and 4 cleaning sessions throughout the season. There is also open studio times for the students to rehearse on their own. There will be additional rehearsals prior to each competition. You must participate for the technique class of the style you will be performing in but are not required to compete in the group number.
When scheduling and working on choreography the instructors will do what is in best interest of the dancer(s) and team as a whole. Our goal is for all choreography (including groups) solo, duos, trios to be complete by the beginning of December.
